I like travellers. I have seen how kind they are. For example I fell down near one of their caravans and they ran to help me up. But there is so much prejudice against them. Of course there will always be youths who behave badly at times but that is true for all groups.

We need to stop the legacy of prejudice and biases against each of these communities. We must go beyond the stereotypes we hold about Romany Gypsies, Irish Travellers, and Roma. Their voices need to be included at all levels of society to change outcomes for them and other communities.
People who feel valid and included foster a sense of belonging. Those with a sense of belonging take better care of themselves, their environment, and the communities they live in. Representation is key to a peaceful and sustainable future for all communities.

Zeta supported: Romany Gypsies, Roma, and Traveller Communities: Push for Real RepresentationWe run the Besom in Histon and Impington charity that transfers household goods from donors to worthy recipients. Such recipients have often involved the traveller community and we formed relationships with many of them. They bought their own church on a neighbouring village and welcomed us to their service. They are clearly regarded as second class citizens and in that regard they do not help their own case. A representative voice would be a great value.
