The rise of Ai in everything from writing, creation, art and Advertisement to now pictures and videos that are unmistakable from real life..is a genuine threat to human authenticity and the sanctity of creation. When videos generated of people are indistinguishable from real life what will become of justice, what will happen to sexual assault victims? What content will be produced? What will happen to art when it is made by robots and not human hands, what will happen to our creativity and our connection? I worry for future generations, and I deeply worry for everyone, our freedom and our ability. It needs to be regulated, options for it in searches and creation need to be given so it can be removed. We have a right to not have AI created content and assistance in our lives.
Destiny 2: A Plea for Linux and Steam Deck Support
To the Developers of Destiny 2,
My name is Derick, and I've been a devoted Guardian since the very beginning. I've poured countless hours into Destiny 2, forging friendships, battling through epic raids, and experiencing the thrill of a truly unique gaming universe. It's a game I love, a world I've invested in, and a community I cherish.
However, there's a growing shadow over my experience: the lack of official support for Linux and the Steam Deck. As a Linux user and a proud owner of a Steam Deck, I'm unable to fully enjoy Destiny 2 on my preferred platform. The current situation forces players like me to jump through hoops, relying on workarounds and unofficial methods to experience the game.
This isn't just a technical inconvenience; it feels like a form of exclusion. We, the Linux and Steam Deck players, are being denied the opportunity to fully participate in the Destiny 2 experience. We're missing out on the convenience of playing on the go, the freedom of our preferred operating systems, and the chance to further immerse ourselves in the world we love.
I understand that porting a game can be a complex undertaking. But I also believe that the benefits of supporting Linux and the Steam Deck far outweigh the costs. The Steam Deck has a growing user base, and the Linux community is passionate and dedicated. Adding official support would not only expand your player base but also demonstrate a commitment to inclusivity and accessibility.
Let's be honest, I'm pretty sure you'll make your money back with an overpriced DLC anyway, so it won't hurt you at all! In fact, I think you'd actually benefit from this.
I urge you to reconsider your stance on Linux and Steam Deck support. Let's bring Destiny 2 to the platforms that deserve it, and let's ensure that all Guardians, regardless of their chosen system, can experience the full glory of the game.
Sincerely,
Derick
This motor circuit goes against the 20 year plan of Burswood park precinct.
We brought our Homes in this area knowing the plan and what to expect over the next 20 years.
This is the public space that we all use for exercise & recreation purposes
I live in the area and often walk around the area where the racetrack is proposed. I implore the people proposing this development to visit the area and seriously observe what is around. If they do, they will see various species of birds who will certainly have to move. Birds that have already been pushed from the CBD foreshore and South Perth foreshore due to developments there. The current area is tranquil and how a relaxing area near the river should be. The racetrack will completely destroy this atmosphere, with things not returning to normal while the racetrack is not operating. Accordingly, this racetrack will forever change what is great about this spot. I implore the decision-makers to visit the area and truly observe the disruptions this racetrack will cause, rather than selecting a place and pursuing a development from behind a desk in West Perth.
I live close to the race track in the City of Adelaide. The noise of helicopters and race cars over 4 days is appalling. The worst aspect, is the loss of access for people to what is usually Adelaide's most visited part of the Adelaide Parklands. People and pets are fenced out of swathes of the park for months. And its ugly - concrete barriers, massive grandstands which take months to assemble and disassemble. And the wildlife....!
Perth has the lowest tree canopy and we are now loosing trees to the Shot Hole Borer we cannot afford to lose the greenery and trees of Burswood Park.
As a cyclist Burswood is already blessed with cycle paths and trees and a wonerfully peaceful atmosphere
State government needs to invest in the already existing infrastructure at Wanneroo Raceway instead of looking for one weekend alternatives which will destroy a beautiful part of the city. Studies and plans have already been drafted for an amazing world class upgrade to Wanneroo where there is plenty of land available for this upgrade and yet the government wants to destroy the middle of the city. The small racetrack next to the airport was closed due to noise complaints but it's next to the airport, yet the state government will build a track in the middle of Burswood? Lost their marbles. Focus on Wanneroo!
Perth has the least amount of green space of any Aust capital city, this development will just add to the “heat island” effect and exacerbate climate change. Not to mention the local habitat destruction, drop in property values and the hundreds of families that gather there every weekend losing a beautiful and peaceful place to gather.
I have been paddling, rowing and walking beside the Swan River for the past 40 years. The quiet, peaceful environment is waht makes it one of the best locations in any capital city. The idea of building a race track makes no sense to me. Why would we spend $217 million on this when we have issues with housing and homelessness. Time for the Labor party to re-focus
This area used to be the Rivervale Tip, then it was turned into the Burswood Island Golf Course in 1985 which improved the whole area. Back in 1909 it was a Sewerage Treatment Plant until 1936. The area is lively and a very pleasant quite residential environment. Now in 2025 the Western Australian Government want to transform it into a noisy, smelly, horrible environment which will add more and more pollution and micro plastics to the environment and have irreparable damage to the wildlife environment which in Modern Day Australia is unacceptable. How about build it in Kings Park... Surely there would be a public outcry about that, so why not this.
Cook may have got back in, but this one point could be his undoing. How about spending $215 million on helping the homeless.
