As a person with a brother who is autistic, its very worrying and concerning to see this act of violence from those who are supposed to defend.

I care about this issue because he was autistic and had cerebral palsy could barely walk already. I care about this issue because he wasn't a dang threat to anyone even his family new he was no threat and they know him the bestest out of every body in this world. I care about this issue because Victor Perez was only freaking 17 years old and still had a lot of life left ahead of him. He great journeys to embark on and embrace but no that had to just be rip away from this beautiful handsome 17 year old soul Victor Perez. Victor Perez baby boy I want you to know we will not stop until we get justice for you and your family and the PPD is hold accountable for what they've caused and have done this is evil and brutal.

Since April 5,2025 I have been going through a few things that the Pocatello Police Department had robbed Victor Perez and his family of, Victor,17 year old kid that was autistic, cerebral palsy and disabilities passed away April 12, 2025. The Perez family moved to Pocatello Idaho in 2017, from their native land Puerto Rico to make a better life. The Perez family spoke Spanish, no English. No one on scene understood what PPD was yelling for him to do... 4 officers gun's drawn screaming drop the knife, the family pleading to the police officers and yelling NO,No,No. Did you know that the 911 caller also mentioned to dispatch that the Perez family spoke Spanish? Why wasn't there an interpreter for the Perez family? Why wasn't there anyone to deligate, and transfer to a competent individual, of the authority to perform a specific task in a specified situation such as what occurred on April 5. Pocatello Police dispatch failed to relay to officers, Why? Why wasn't anything communicated, this might had saved Victors life. Why not? I bet YOU can make a list for the late Victor Perez and his family's how much we the People of the United States of America together can make a difference for ALL of the Victors in the world. Please join me by signing this petition. And maybe, just maybe we can make a difference in the laws and how police officers along with 911 dispatchers are trained. It's definitely not a 'I' or 'Their' problem. It's a 'WE' problem. If 'We' can sign this petition for all the Victors in the past, present, and future. Maybe the powers that be pass a law to have mandatory and extensive training in all 50 states on how to deal with the mentality ill, and physically developed that can not speak for themselves. Thank you, Roxanne from Pocatello Idaho

Those police officers didn’t even ask the family what was going on they all gave their Vincent to shoot to kill this was an autistic disable child in distress. He needed help not being shot nine times that was so aggressive for those cops and it hit me so hard because IVincent to shoot to kill this was an autistic disable child in distress. He needed help not being shot nine times that was so aggressive for those cops and it hits me so hard because I have two autistic children myself. I also have another granddaughter that’s nonverbal so it hits me very, very very hard and my heart goes out to this family. This should never had happened to Victor. He should still be here with his family shine in that beautiful smile.

No Family Should Have to Fight for Justice! Wrong is wrong, there's no justification no excuse, the police should not be allowed to get away with these unjustly evil acts. This pain is nothing you ever want to feel, a death is enough but senseless devastating life changing then to have to fight for what's right. It's beyond belief, let's help support and create change. Justice For Victor Perez!!!

This is a hard time for our community. I would hope our police department would re-examine its training policies after the death of a disabled child after a bad call by officers, without external pressure. Unfortunately, it seems like that’s not the case.. please protect our little Idaho community. Please re-train our officers to not shoot first.

When I heard about Victor’s death, I was heartbroken, and as an autistic POC, it sickens me that something so terrible was done so nearby. I’ve heard plenty of stories of autistic teenagers being killed by police, and Victor is just a piece of a larger issue. We need to put a stop to the targeted violence against disabled children of color!
