Swimming and having fun whilst swimming are very important, where else can all ages have fun in a fun pool with a wave machine and a slide, not locally!!! Swimming is physically and mentally good for everyone and my children use this swimming pool frequently. My daughter of 11 chooses to go here on a regular basis with her friends, she said to me, the only enjoyment and they want to take it away from us, what else can we do in Eastbourne at 11!! I agree with her and feel very strongly about this, the decision is absolutely ridiculous and will no doubt cause an increase in anti social behaviour and there will be nothing left for certain age groups anymore. It’s very important that children can swim and have an environment where swimming can also be fun. Please, please don’t do this to our children.

My 92 year old mother and some of her friends from her care home use the fun pool to swim as it’s the only public pool with access for people with limited mobility to get in and out off. The definitely would not be able to get into the main pool as its steps only

I worked in Eastbourne for 19 years. It’s a great place and the people need their fun pool! Give it back to them

The fun pool not only brings in tourism but it is also the only fun pool for children in a 10 mile radius. The pools at treasure island aren't the same because it’s way too shallow where at the sovereign centre families can swim together and targeted at under 8s . The fun pool has always been full when ever we go and we really don’t need another soft play . If the council can’t afford to maintain the pool I don’t see why they can’t sell to a private company so we can all keep the pool we love or even search for investors. Disabled children all over Eastbourne and the surrounding area love the pool and find the gala pools over whelming and cramped . Are we really going to make our town less inclusive ? My autistic son loves swimming but now won’t have anywhere to swim as the pools are small and cramped and it will cost a fortune to private hire a pool. The council say they can’t afford the repairs but want to expand the gym ? And ironically haven’t voiced what all these changes would cost. I’m fairly certain it would cost either the same or close to the amount they need to spend to maintenance the fun pool. People in Eastbourne are getting really sick to death of having 100s of variations of the same god dame thing . Forget soft plays we have 5 we don’t need another bloody soft play and they don’t entertain teens. Where are our teenagers supposed to go for entertainment ? What entertainment is there for our teens ? The answer is there 5 skate parks and what about the teens who aren’t into skating ? Most girls aren’t into staking but love the h20 parties at the fun pool. What are those teens going to be doing now ? Getting alcohol illegally , drinking in field and getting pregnant because there’s nothing for them to do that’s legal , cheap and fun.

It’s called international for a reason. I believe so many will benefit from the Eurostar running through ashford international again. £30 for a ticket to St Pancras after you’re already spending x amount on tickets to Europe. It’ll be fair to the residents of Kent because travel will be way more accessible.
