Florida is a state where families are exposed to increasing heat index on a yearly basis, which means increased need for basic utilities such as AC, to allow for livable temperatures. I have heard many families indicate they have had to pay over 500$ per month. Florida also provides little opportunity for low cost energy efficient upgrades like solar panels, windows, doors, and other factors that could reduce the cost of some of the utilities within the state. With cost of living having skyrocketed in florida overall in comparison to the national average, many families could benefit from some reduction of utility bills.
Being a single mom/single parent HOH in this day and age is very hard financially. We need all the help we can get for household items and daily provisions. Having tariffs put on bare necessities that we have to use that is NOT made here is another hardship. It would make it better to know exactly how much more we're paying with knowing how much the taxes are!
We have backyard chickens, and it is an amazing experience. We are able to collect and eat the most nutritious and fresh eggs. We spend more time as a family being around them. They benefit our environment. We share eggs with our neighbors and find that they are fascinated with the chickens also.
Childcare costs too much and the state wants my disabled above the knee amputee husband to return to work to even be able to have healthcare. Our daughter is 3 I can’t afford to pay $2400 a month for childcare… so my husband is staying home to help offset that cost… while I work my butt off to try to stay afloat… Beginning of 2023 when my husband got sick we lost 3/4 of our income and then inflation hit… I work as much as I can at my main job and then I take care of my family at home and then I have my photography business that I tried to start 3 months before my husband got sick but I only brought in 38,000 this year… and with my husband losing his insurance with the coming of this next year he is losing IRIS so I will be losing caregiver compensation so my family is going to be losing $1200 a month… so I am hugely stressed right now… especially on how I am even just going to be able to keep a roof over my families heads when that is literally what I pay for rent every month… but we make too much to get help but also don’t make enough to get any help.
