This issue needs to be addressed EVERYWHERE. I started having heart problems at 26 years old due to mold and acquired an autoimmune disease at the same time. Both my kids were ill and recovered within two months of moving out of the moldy environment.
Thank you for sharing your story!!
You guys gotta take this stuff seriously. I was poisoned by mold through a terribly designed CPAP mask component... I deteriorated to the point I wanted to end my own life because all Western medicine tests showed I was as healthy as someone with type 1 diabetes for 14 years and a newly diagnosed sleep apnea suffered could be. But I was falling apart mentally and physically. Please don't ignore this issue. Mold needs to be MUCH MORE talked about than it is. I turned into someone I wasn't .. my wife nearly divorced me... I lost friends... I had behavioral crisis called on me. Mold is truly scary and extremely dangerous and I hope you'll take our experiences into GREAT consideration regarding the severity of a an ignored or neglected toxic mold problem. Do the right thing!
This should be remediated immediately. If our kids need to spend all day breathing that air, it should be tested and safe. For the district leadership to know of this issue and fail to act is unacceptable.
School is supposed to be safe for us, healthwise. I recently read the tests on the D96 website and I was horrified. We need safer air in our schools. We shouldn’t be breathing poison every day.
This is deeply concerning, especially as we have a child attending and several friends at Woodlawn. No parent should have to fight this hard for something as basic as a safe learning environment. It’s alarming to hear about multiple students experiencing similar health issues, and even more frustrating that the district is spending resources to fight parents rather than addressing the root cause.
We need transparency and real action to ensure our kids are safe. If independent testing confirmed toxic mold, why isn’t there immediate remediation? Is this the reason my child has been sick so frequently this year? Thank you for raising awareness. I’ll be signing and sharing.
I was stuck in a sick building for 8 years and suffered from seizures, bloody noses, pain, exhaustion, you name it. I found the mold, moved out, detoxed my body, and I feel better. MOLD SICKNESS IS REAL. It's pretty insane that this hasn't been recognized more. Good for you all for bringing light to this effort.
I have Cirs aka mold illness and my senior living facility has mold that is making me ill while they deny the problem
Mold legislation needs to be in every state, we need new safer building practices as well. Yes it's a problem in old buildings but it's also a problem in newer builds because of sloppy building practices like using weather mold damaged wood
As a resident of D96, I am horrified. I have heard how difficult it was at Woodlawn to get their kid's needs taken care of. Thankfully my kids went to Twin Groves, where you should allow these other children to transfer. Instead you waste tax payer money in some sort of power play instead of fixing things.
