As a retired couple, we are working to reduce our expenses, not increase them. Essential living costs, such as electricity, should not rise simply because of a business decision to expand or improve capabilities. These types of costs should not be passed on to customers, particularly those living on fixed or limited incomes. We respectfully ask that you consider adjusting the rates so they are fair and not punitive to customers.

I am voicing my concern about the rate hikes from Duke Energy. I am elderly & on a fixed income, and the recent utility hikes are squeezing my budget to a breaking point. Please do not allow AI centers to function off of the citizens backs and pocketbooks.

Dear Prime Minister and Respected Members of the Government, As a Canadian resident living in Alberta for the past eight years, I write to you with deep respect and heartfelt sincerity. My family and I have made our lives here — enduring countless struggles and making every possible effort to build a stable future in this beautiful country we proudly call home. We arrived in Canada with high hopes and the determination to contribute meaningfully to society. Despite holding PhDs, finding secure employment has been a long and challenging journey. Like many other immigrant families, we faced numerous obstacles — from acquiring Permanent Residency and later working towards citizenship, to navigating the high costs of daycare, rental housing, and essential services. We have paid substantial amounts to IRCC and other institutions during this process. After years of careful financial planning, sacrifice, and saving, we finally managed to put together the 5% down payment required to purchase our very first home — a dream we have nurtured since the day we arrived. We signed the purchase agreement in good faith, with the closing date set for September 2025. Shortly after we signed, the government announced the First-Time Home Buyer GST Rebate. While we welcome this progressive and much-needed initiative, it was deeply disheartening to learn that eligibility is currently based on the agreement date, not the closing date. This policy detail unintentionally excludes families like ours who, due to unavoidable circumstances, had to commit to their home purchase before this announcement (which is unpredictable). We could not have foreseen this benefit, and delaying such a critical life decision was not an option available to us. Therefore, I sincerely and humbly urge the government to reconsider the eligibility criteria and base the GST rebate on the closing date rather than the agreement date. This change would make the program truly equitable and inclusive for all first-time home buyers, including those who signed before the announcement but will not receive the keys to their homes until much later. We are just one of many families who have dreamt of homeownership and made countless sacrifices to turn that dream into reality. Please give thoughtful consideration to this request — it would provide much-needed relief and fairness to many hardworking Canadians striving to build a life of dignity and stability. Thank you very much for your attention and for your continued efforts to support families like ours. With sincere hope and gratitude, Aparna

I’m a lifelong Va resident, the immediate extremist actions of Mrs Spanberger are alarming enough that my family is weighing moving out of Va. Uprooting your life and your kids is not an easy decision, but the numerous new taxes and unnecessary and unacceptable proposals for public school curriculums will absolutely push families away from our beautiful state.

I have lived in Virginia all my 60 years. I had to retire early because of an injury so it’s tough trying to make ends meet sometimes. I don’t understand why they want to make it so hard for people to live?? It’s tough seeing how Virginia is divided and how the hard working Virginians have to suffer because of people like her being elected. I don’t know if people are not voting ,other than for the Presidential vote but this election should wake people up and from now on We Need To Vote at Every Election in our State!!! I hope the ones that voted for her are balling their eyes out when those crazy taxes and everything else starts. She needs to be fired!! We need someone who cares about our state and what happens to the people!! And for me it’s not a Democratic/Republican thing it’s a humanitarian thing. It’s caring about All the people. What’s right for everyone not one side or the other!! Why can’t they work together for the good of everyone. We don’t need higher taxes, we pay enough now for taxes on taxes and more. I’m sick of Northern Va making up the majority votes here.

According to the House Bill 863 includes proposals to effectively eliminate minimum sentencing for manslaughter, rape, possession and distribution of child pornography, assaulting a law enforcement officer and other repeat violent felonies. As a victim, of a brutal rape crime, this has me scared for not just for myself ,but the community. If someone is sentenced life without parole, there should be no release!! It doesn’t matter if they are up for geriatric release. The crime they committed and the time that was served should still stand. Someone becoming of the age of 60ish does not mean they’re not a threat to the community specially among the children. If you release a rapist that was sentenced with life without parole just because he is considered geriatric you are now operating a huge threat to our community and our children.

There is a place for 2-D animated features in the theatre, and it is a disservice to shunt a labour of love like this straight to streaming. I want to see my childhood, new and improved, on the big screen, and I know I'm not alone.

Growing up watching ATLA, all I wanted was an accurate depiction of them to play in a movie theater. I cried real tears when M. Night Shyamalan butchered this story that I loved so much. The Gaang deserves to have their moment on a big screen by the original creators. I know a lot of fans from my generation would come out to the local theater to watch and would be so happy to have this feeling of accomplishment & nostalgia.
