Losing an apex predator from our ecosystem would be detrimental for centuries to come. Not to mention the immense importance of the orcas to our region and culture.
I’ve seen the documentary film. The film is astonishing, seeing how each things link to each other. Orcas are starving due to the decline of wild salmons. Salmons decline due to the pathogens from salmon farms and dams. It is amazing to see people from different places unite in the same issue because it all connects together.
we started this, so we gotta fix it. extinction is forever, but endangered means there’s time to save them. there’s only 73 left, speak for the unspeakable.
Our beautiful orcas need our help and they will continue to die until we do. These incredible animals are essential to keep our ecosystem in balance and their struggle signifies the struggle of that system. Culturally, spiritually and environmentally they are immensely significant. Do not let our past actions determine the fate of these spectacular beings. We know what needs to be done, now we just need to do it.
