As a first time parent, my husband and I have gladly adjusted our lifestyle to welcome our son into our lives. Baby goods of all kinds should be exempt from tariffs to help parents like myself support and provide for their families. We want more children down the line, and love the U.S. Please exempt family-building/baby care items from tariffs so families can thrive once again in the U.S.

American parents of infants are already stretched thin trying to raise a child with rising costs. Having safe gear for a baby shouldn’t be an unaffordable luxury!

Working in an industry like child safety and seeing the number of injuries our products have lessened or prevented altogether has reinforced in me the value of protecting our future by protecting our children. These tariffs will be passed on to consumers, many of whom just can't afford the increased prices they'd have to pay, and that's wrong. If even one child is injured because their parents can't afford to pay for a car seat due to these tariffs, that's criminal.

I am having another child after 12 years from the birth of my last baby. Not only do I not have any baby gear items left, I have found that second hand items are not readily available. Some items, such as car seats and crib mattress, should not be purchased second hand but rather should be bought new due to safety concerns. These are expensive items, and the thought that they could become more expensive in the near future is terrifying.

I just had my first baby in 2024 a young mom only 21 years old and affording this stuff was not easy the cost of living is already high enough 🤦🏽‍♀️ please don’t increase the price of baby items we are already scraping by as is. I fear getting pregnant again because I know I won’t be able to afford it.

I have just had a baby and even with saving and planning we are overwhelmed with everything that we need. After medical bills for me and the baby, supply cost as well as general cost of essentials for my husband and I, we have decided this will be our only child. The US is not a family environment and even having 1 child is a major stretch. We would not be able to provide a decent quality of life if we had any more children, we're barely skating by as is.

Baby gear is so expensive already and getting a safe car seat should not be something only the elite can afford. It's so important to keep these items accessible to every family

Crimes involving suspects with mental illness has been at an all time high since COVID 19. Sanctuaries and programs that help both our youth and mentally disabled people have been shut down due to lack of funding yet our Mayor is under investigation for fraud and conspiracies. I wonder if there is a connection between the two. Anywho, there are plenty of people with mental illness who are not violent. What makes the difference between those who are violent and those who are not? The answer is the help they receive from both families and professionals. There is no reason a person with a mental disability should be excused from trial because they are "mentally unfit" to stand trial for a choice they made. What justice does that bring the victim and in this case a child? Again, there are mentally disabled people who are NOT violent. Suspects who claim that they are mentally unfit to stand trial should receive both help and still face trial in court.

Mental illness is something that needs to be taken seriously, we shouldn’t have to wait for someone to hurt not kill to be able to get helped. An innocent child lost his life due to this and it is unfair for everyone whom is his family. I come here today to support because he is my friends step son and to have seen my friend breakdown telling me he lost his stepson was devastating to me. My heart hurts for his parents. This could’ve been anyone’s child as well so I come here to show my support so we can make a change
