I’m blessed with the opportunity to work with kiddos who are from the ages of 18 months to 11years old who are on the spectrum. Although i’m very new to this industry I have seen the progress of a few kids already so much. They truly do progress in these huge milestone ways over time with the right support and funding. The change is huge for these kiddos lives because it gives them a new chance of life in a way that allows them to be intregraded into society without making them feel different than any of the other children their age. So many parents express how thankful they are for the work we do here because the change truly shows at home! The services we offer do make a change in these kiddos lives and their families. Do not take funding away from these kiddos in need but instead add more funding so that we can reach even more kids and families in need. Everyone deserves a chance at life that isn't made difficult or different just because they need a different kind of hands on experience that public schools don't offer.
My step son is autistic. And thankfully my husband's health insurance covers his care. However, as a retired pediatric nurse I know there are thousands of children just like Aidyn and single Moms just like his mother. These services are ESSENTIAL to ANY level of success children like Aidyn can ever realize. These professionals require living wages. And cutting programs does not allow this. Please honor these children, their families and the professionals in their lives to be able to provide the care for these children who don't have voices. Thank yoi for your time and attention to this very important matter.
As a person that works in ABA it is so heartbreaking to see someone learn and grow from care but then it be taken away! I truly hope that things can change
