Chris was without doubt the best parcel delivery person I have ever experienced. Always efficient and a wonderful face for Auspost. I often wondered how he managed to always make it such a positive interaction, always. I would like to know why the contract decision did not account for the incredible service experience he offered. The community voice matters!

‘Deliver a better tomorrow for customers and communities by providing products and services aligned with their needs’
I’ve only been in Romsey for a short five years, but in that time, the most outstanding service I’ve experienced has come from Chris, our amazing postie.
Chris isn’t just someone who delivers the mail — he brings warmth, reliability, and genuine care to our doorsteps. Rain, hail or shine, he’s always there with a friendly wave, a quick chat, and a kind smile that brightens even the dullest days. His dedication to our community has been nothing short of extraordinary.
It’s rare to find someone who takes such pride in their role and consistently goes above and beyond to make others’ lives easier. Chris has done exactly that — every single day.
To say he will be missed is an understatement. His absence will leave a real gap in our town, and I know I speak for many when I say we’re so grateful to have had him as part of our daily lives.
Thank you, Chris. You’ve made a bigger impact than you’ll ever know.
I have expressed to Australia Post how much this Postie will be missed by phoning my experience to 13 13 18 all experiences will be passed on to our local management.
Our Christmas tree even had a parcel each year for our ‘BEST POSTIE EVER’ Thank you for navigating our Christmas presents and hiding every single one of them.
Chris was a welcoming and friendly face when I moved to Romsey. I knew nobody and felt so welcome by his kindness and care. I never thought the delivery of the parcel would be better than the actual parcel. Chris is more than just a delivery guy, he’s kind, warm and makes the days better for many lacking connection.
Chris is fantastic. He made an effort to meet us when we first moved to Romsey to discuss our needs and preferences as we get a lot of stuff delivered. We’ve had a noticeable decline in service standards since he was replaced.
Any who knows me, knows my online ‘add to cart’ addiction is REAL… why?? Because I live in the beautiful little town called Romsey, a proud community within the Macedon Ranges in Victoria.
Romsey is the traditional little Aussie town, where everyone knows nearly everyone.
I moved here in 2007, to raise my children in a town where they could walk to school, ride their bikes around town. Breathe clean country air!!
I digress, back to my ‘add to cart’ affliction.. you see, Romsey is not just around the corner to all the major stores, and being a small business owner who loves supporting other small businesses ‘add to cart’ is a way of life out here.
In 2018, my world turned upside down and I now rely on a wheelchair & incredible support workers. That caused my ‘add to cart’ hobby to become my sole shopping avenue.
Enter Chris stage left!!!
I’m not sure I can convey into words how magnificent the man is at his job.
He may not be directly employed as a support worker for me, but that’s what he is!!
He knows I can’t always get to the door, so he waits.
He knows I have support workers and works well with them, even carrying heavy items inside to help them.
Every Christmas Chris becomes a little not so secret Santa and spoils us with local handmade cookies, why?? Because he is a community man. He gives back to show his appreciation for every single ‘add to cart’ he delivers.
IF you’ve got this far, PLEASE I beg you to sign and share this partition far and wide. Auspost and it contractors need to know that it makes a bigger difference than they realise to have the right people for the job.
Chris is the RIGHT person for Romsey.
Thank you Chris.
I couldn’t believe the news and how disappointed I now am in the Romsey Post Office and Sunbury Post Office, Chris was apart of our daily lives and help to deliver many important parcels or secret purchases to our house. It was a comfort knowing he will be delivering our parcel especially if we were at work during the day. Always positive, polite and honestly made us feel welcomed to Romsey community. The new drivers just throw the parcels with no door knock or care for the packages.
