Animal rights and conservation refers to the philosophy and practices asserting that sentient animals have inherent moral worth and require protection of their habitats and populations for long-term sustainability. Animal rights holds that animals possess basic entitlements, such as freedom from suffering and exploitation, independent of human utility. Conservation involves preserving wild animals, ecosystems, and biodiversity through habitat restoration, anti-poaching measures, and species management.

Fireworks aren't compatible with animals and nature. They frighten millions of animal every July. It would be heartbreaking if the eagle family or any family in the wild is forced to listen to ear shattering, stupid fireworks with no one to comfort them. Please ban them at BB Lake at least.
I actually was shocked to hear that a firework show was happening in the first place in Big Bear. Between the wildlife, and fire risk, this just seems outdated. We have to begin considering nature, even if it means a little less excitement.
There are other ways to celebrate the 4th of July, and with our national bird being a Bald Eagle, we can start by protecting those that call Big Bear home.
Please show your support for your well-known resident bald eagles and their young offspring (our national bird) , along with other wildlife of the Big Bear area, by not setting off fireworks this year. I saw how alarmed Jackie and Shadow were by two loud daytime gunshots earlier this season, and I am very concerned about how they (and their two fledglings) might respond to sustained fireworks at night. I urge you to forego the fireworks and celebrate in other ways that do not endanger their wellbeing. Thank you!
I am a 26 year-old woman on the autism spectrum with a whole host of other mental issues. It's a fight to live a good quality of life when you're like us, and Mikayla, she didn't lose that fight. The opposition played dirty in such a way that cost Mikayla her life. I hope from her tragic death can spring activism and awareness and support for others like Michaela and myself who struggle to see the light amidst all the darkness that is this world. Rest in eternal peace and love Mikayla. May your family find solace and beauty that you brought to the world through your rescue.
Those people bullied her to death. That is absolutely unacceptable. I almost lost someone I love very dearly to suicide and I believe that we must do everything we can to stop bullying.
I have a 2 year old husky, never in my sane mind have I ever thought of BEATING my dog over any small inconvenience, what that woman did to her dog is beyond evil, dogs have the mentality of a 2 year old, they have no idea of what they do
I'm tired of the inhumane acts against animals. This poor puppy deserves to be rescued. I can't even type this without crying. Please... she deserves the maximum sentence
