Mix 96 has served the Buckinghamshire community since 1994 as a truly local radio station with local staff that has championed many local causes and made a real difference in our community during that time.

Bauer Media acquired Mix 96 as part of a buyout of its parent company, UKRD, in March 2019 and  on 27th May it was announced that Bauer Media are permanently rebranding our local radio station to a national and at times regional generic Greatest Hits FM.

This will mean that nothing will be produced locally and only the Drivetime show will be "regional" which will cover the same area as ITV Meridian, so not really local.  The rest of the programming will come from Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, or London.

This is also resulting in all the DJs and rest of the team at Mix 96 being made redundant and we are losing our amazing community station as of September. Mix 96 have been a fantastic promoter of local businesses, supporting the local community in many ways including supporting a local charity of the year, advertising individuals charity fundraising, doing Food bank collections, the Easter egg appeal, the Christmas Toy appeal, bra collections. It also promotes our local bands. Mix 96 is a massive, unique, asset to Buckinghamshire and I for one are incredibly disappointed in the decision by Bauer. It will be a huge loss to the community.
