The regular rotation format that will be absent from WRAS with the new GPB partnership is a huge blow. Though content will be streamed online, the decision to make WRAS a talk radio station for 14 hours a day is an example of how GSU has sold out by changing the integrity of a station that has so much history with so many people over the years that have put so much into it. We have worked with these people. Some of them are the most passionate people about music we have met.
And for some the opportunity to have a regular rotation shift is what allows you to find your place in a school as big as GSU as well as make friendships at WRAS. Because we had held  regular rotation slots, we were able to get to know WRAS's listeners, its content, and start to find my place when we were new and still barely knew anyone at the station. It is the combination of this rotation AND specialty shows that makes WRAS what it is, and it is incredibly disheartening to know that it will not be the same in a few weeks. We don't know what else to say except that this is a huge mistake and total lack of regard or appreciation for the independent culture and noncommercial music scene and ethic.

Administartion never said ratings were a concern but now they are saying they weren't high enough. They never once made it clear that students and djs should be concerned about that since we're noncommercial.
