University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA): Preserve Tradition - TURN ON THE INVERTED FOUNTAIN FOR GRADUATION

University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA): Preserve Tradition - TURN ON THE INVERTED FOUNTAIN FOR GRADUATION
The Issue
The Inverted Fountain is an integral part of UCLA tradition. Incoming freshman place their hand in the fountain and are initiated as Bruins. Legend holds that if you touch the water before you graduate, you add an extra quarter to your time here (which debatably isn't that bad haha). Upon graduating, seniors celebrate by swimming in the fountain and holding a barbecue or other activities around this area. This is something we have looked forward to for 4 years. So let's join together and make sure the construction around the fountain is halted for graduation weekend, and the fountain is turned on so we can celebrate graduating in proper Bruin fashion!
Some joke that UCLA stands for Under Construction Like Always. Class of 2013 has suffered through many Residence Hall renovations in our first few years, putting up with the dust and noise of the new buildings. We have endured the construction of Pauley Pavilion for half of our time here, travelling to different venues (including near USC...) to view our basketball team and have changed our routes when Bruin Walk was shut down. Construction is part of our experience and Bruins are adaptable, however now it has gone too far!
