Release five rhesus macaque monkeys from the UCLA research laboratory without delay.

Release five rhesus macaque monkeys from the UCLA research laboratory without delay.
The Issue
SAEN – Stop Animal Exploitation NOW! – and well-known primatologist Bob Ingersoll from Project Nim, are asking University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Chancellor Gene Block and the University of California Board of Regents to release five rhesus macaque monkeys from the UCLA research laboratory, and are offering permanent retirement from research for these monkeys at a registered sanctuary.
The monkeys at UCLA are mainly used in recreational drug experiments, namely methamphetamine. Primatologist Bob Ingersoll states that as drug addiction is a social malaise, using monkeys in addiction experiments has limited applicability to the real world.
The NIH funds these experiments at the taxpayer’s expense. Please join SAEN in asking UCLA and the California Board of Regents to retire the monkeys to sanctuary!
