The management at WCLK, 91.9 FM: Let Jamal Ahmad program the music on the S.O.U.L. of Jazz

The Issue

Jamal Ahmad's show is one of the last bastion's on noncommercial music in the city of Atlanta. Jamal opens our minds to sounds from all over the world, educating us about music we may never hear if not for him. His show is one of the foundations of Atlanta's jazz and soul scenes, supporting hundreds of artists, musicians and more. Gutting his show — as WCLK's recent programming shift to a smooth-jazz-heavy format has done — hurts not only the station's listeners but the city's cultural scene as well. In a world where black culture is constantly being scrutinized and maligned, we MUST keep this gem — The S.O.U.L. of Jazz — untouched.
