At last count, "more than 2,306 voters" cast ballots in the wrong legislative districts in early voting for the August 2 Election in Shelby County. The Shelby County Election Commission is directly responsible for this terrible error.

When asked how the commission is addressing the problem, Chairman Robert Meyers said "we're asking the voters to be the last check in the chain of command." Chairman Meyers can't ensure that Election Commission staff do their jobs for the voters of Shelby County and believes that voters should do their job for them.

Commission Chairman Robert Meyers and Administrator Richard L. Holden must resign their position immediately following the August 2 election. They can no longer be trusted with the responsibility of ensuring a fair and organized election.
