Saugatuck's Harbor Road has become too dangerous to walk down due to speeders. Dangerous hair pin turns cause further safety issues if cars do not slow down.

This petition is to ask the Town of Westport to evaluate the implementation of a large 22 foot speed table on the road which will help to reduce speed at bus stop and hair pin turn effectively slowing cars down and implementing safety.  

The goal is to promote Safety to Walkers, Children, Joggers, Bike riders, pedestrians and homeowners pulling out of driveways while retaining the beauty of the area.  The reduction of speed also reduces carbon emission.

Westport Police statistics show over 65% of travelers are speeding. Over 50% in excess of 25 miles OVER the posted 25mph limit.

Specifically 32,274 cars traveled were INCLUDED in the DATA by Westport Police and  27,109 30 were in high excess of the limit.   One are was traveing 55 MPH in the 25 MPH limit.
