Require disclosure of toxic materials in water infrastructure projects

Require disclosure of toxic materials in water infrastructure projects
The Issue
We call upon the Environmental Protection Agency to institute a policy requiring all entities that provide drinking water to residents of the United States to make public information regarding the use or presence of all toxic materials in water infrastructure systems and/or projects.
Many towns, cities, counties, and other local authorities in America purchase materials for use in infrastructure projects that contain toxic components. PVC is one highly toxic material that can present great danger to communities and their residents. People may be exposed to toxins in their workplaces, homes, and elsewhere without even knowing. It is imperative that the EPA require water authorities to take action to protect their communities by making available lists of toxic materials used in infrastructure projects. People have a right to know if they are being exposed to such toxins.
