Improve and upgrade store with deli, bakery, meat department, & coffee bar

Ralphs is the largest grocery store in Altadena, which has a population of 42,777 and a median income of nearly $80,000. Yet the store is cramped, with a poor selection of produce and items, and has no deli, bakery, meat department, or coffee bar. These are the types of improvements that people in Altadena want, need, and would patronize in their grocery store. We ask Ralphs to begin a remodel and/or expansion of this location to better serve our community needs.

Yes, it's true! Ralphs has scheduled construction to begin this July on a new bakery and deli in the Altadena store. We're so excited! Thanks for signing the petition and caring about our community.

This big news came out last week, so my apologies for posting it so belatedly. Thanks to everyone who signed the petition. I can't promise it was just our work that made this happen (Ralphs corporate headquarters never responded directly to me) but they couldn't have been ignoring our petition, local news coverage, and ACONA meeting. Your hard work paid off!

We stopped by the store yesterday and the word is that measurements are starting and work should begin late this year. Thanks for being a part of this!

    3. REMINDER: Ralphs at ACONA meeting TONIGHT! (Tues, 3/27)

Elliot Gold of ACONA (Altadena Coalition of Neighborhood Associations) has invited us and Ralphs to come tonight to have an open discussion of the market. We hope we'll see you there!

INCREDIBLE! We doubled our signatures in just two days! Great work everyone! Please keep it going. I have reached out to Ralphs a couple of times (corporate, not local) but think it may be more effective to speak to our local manager(s), as they know our community and have heard these requests before. Anyone who has any ideas, please feel free to share.

Whoa! I'm so excited to see the community support for this petition! I'd love it if everyone could get just one friend or neighbor to sign on...let's see if we can double support by the end of the week. Let's show Ralphs we believe in Altadena and will support a better store. Thanks!

What's happening to this? It's already August and back in April you stated that they were going to start in July.....Would like to have an update on this.

Will the "Monte Cedro" Retirement Community still be building their facility on the grounds of the old "Scripps Home" area? I'm sure the future residents would want to have the "Ralphs" improved and upgraded.

We have been in desperate need of a full service store in this area.

Even though I don't live in this area friends of my kids do and they value food as much as those that live in another area. This area doesn't have much choice but I would imagine locals will shop at another store closer to work and it won't be a Ralphs!

I would like all the amenities and not have to drive to Hastings Ranch or La Canada to get them.
