END BSL (Breed Specific Legislation)

END BSL (Breed Specific Legislation)
The Issue
BSL (Breed Specific Legislation) is the ban or restriction of "dangerous" breeds such as the Amercian Pitbull Terrier, Rottweilers, Dobermans, German Shepherds and many more. Unfortunately, 43 states have BSL laws somewhere in their state right now. Many people think these BSL laws are an effective answer to preventing dog attacks.
There is little evidence showing BSL laws are actually reducing dog bites and dog attacks. If you corner a dog, he will bite you, regardless of the breed. Many reliable sources such as the CDC (Centers for Disease Control), the American Veterinary Medical Association and many more agree that BSL is not productive.
Dog racism, people racism, it's all the same, it's all wrong.
PUNISH THE DEED NOT THE BREED.
Approximately 92% of fatal dog attacks involved male dogs, 94% of which were not neutered.
Approximately 25% of fatal dog attacks involved chained dogs.
Approximately two-thirds of bites occurred on or near the victim’s property, and most victims knew the dog.
The insurance industry pays more than $1 billion in dog-bite claims each year.
At least 25 different breeds of dogs have been involved in the 238 dog-bite-related fatalities in the U.S.
Approximately 24% of human deaths involved unrestrained dogs off of their owners’ property.
Approximately 58% of human deaths involved unrestrained dogs on their owners’ property.
We need Dangerous Dog Acts that hold owners accountable for their dogs if their dogs bite anyone, regardless of the breed. Strongly enforcing laws like having your dog on a leash while not in the house, or in a fenced in yard could help from a dog biting someone. Because of BSL laws, studies estimate that 1 million Pitbulls are euthanized a year. By far, Pitbulls are the most euthanized dog.
I am a Pitbull owner and a Bully Breed advocate. Please help me in my long journey to recieve the rights our amazing family dogs deserve!
Please, train, exercise, socialize and most importantly love your Bully Breed to help keep the negative news out of our backyards!
DON'T BULLY MY BREED.
STOP DOG RACISM.
Thank you for time, if you do not support my wishes, that is fine. I only hope you do some research with an open heart and open mind. My Pitbull is just as important to me as your Golden Retriever is to you.
