• at present dogs are allowed on trains, on a lead, in the rest of the UK and Ireland and in most countries in Europe but not in Northern Ireland.

 • Northern Ireland Railways demand that dogs must be in a dog carrier which effectively means that Dog Lovers in Northern Ireland cannot travel by train with their dogs.

• Dog Lovers in Northern Ireland who are Disabled, elderly or mobility impaired , in particular, have effectively been excluded from travelling by train, with their dogs, in Northern Ireland since it is not possible for them to comply with the Northern Ireland Railways policy on Dogs on Trains

Dog Lovers NI simply wish Northern Ireland Railways to apply the same rules to people travelling with dogs in Northern Ireland as apply everywhere else in the UK , Ireland and most of Europe .
