Mr. Pernetti's recent "resignation" was due to media scrutiny over the handling of basketball coach Mike Rice's behavior with his team. Mr. Pernetti sought out and took action deemed appropriate by himself as well as the administration and executive staff at Rutgers. It was only after he lost his trial of public opinion did Rutgers President Robert L. Barchi ask for Mr. Pernetti's resignation.

Mr. Rice's actions were inappropriate to say the least however Rutgers board approved disciplinary action was taken. The forced resignation of Mr. Pernetti has taken a bad situation and made it exponentially worse. Mr.Pernetti is not only good for Rutgers Athletics, He is good for the college as a whole as well as the state of New Jersey.

Correct the injustice that was done and re-instate Tim Pernetti.
