There is animal welfare legislation in Romania, but unfortunately it does not receive attention from the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority. The country’s politics is known for its corruption and animal welfare is at a very low level.

Law no. 205/2004 provides the necessary measures for ensuring the conditions of life and welfare for animals."Animals' owners" have the obligation to provide animals with proper shelter, enough food and water, enough space to move, care and attention.

Please take action today and tell the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority to enforce laws on behalf of animals, and to consider their organisations values and priorities.
