Mayor and City Council, Englewood, NJ: It's time to revise that 35 year old ordinance! Rosie's Weenie Wagon is just trying to make an HONEST living!!
The Issue

In these difficult economic times 'rules' must be bent and changed to accomodate the 'little guy' so he/she is able to work and serve the community without making it more difficult that what it already is. Some of these outdated ordinances must be tweeked a bit to allow an honest, hard working person to conduct business in a legal manner without violating the law.
?I AM JUST TRYING TO MAKE A LIVING as opposed to giving up, getting on welfare and LIVING OFF OF YOU! this way of thinking should be greatly supported by any and all City Councils and government!
?Unfortunately, we don't all have the capital to set up a 'brick & mortar' place of business, so we have to do the best with what we have and that's exactly what I've done. I've created a business where I cater to the blue collar trucker/worker on the run to his/her next gig and the office and factory workers nearby. I don't take business away from anyone. On the contrary, I recommend the restaurants in downtown that have partnered with me, and that have shown me support.
Why not be supportive of the little blue truck in the industrial area? why not have this story lift your town as an example of REINVENTION? why not lead the way in changing things and giving people who desperately need it work??.....hopefully, if given the opportunity, who knows?...my business could grow, and what better place to set up a 'brick&mortar' than the place that paved the way for it?
?Throughout this crazy 'journey', I have been more than blessed with an incredible amount of support and LOVE from the good people of Englewood, and as far and wide as Florida and California!! the emails, texts, and calls have been incredible...the visits from people from afar that just simply want to tell me to 'keep moving forward' and 'you're an inspiration' has touched me deeply, drives me to persevere, and to keep doing what I'm doing! I feed off the support of those who make this country great.....people like YOU signing this petition to have the Mayor and Council DO THE RIGHT THING.
my parents didn't sacrifice so much for me to fail....this is America and to me FAILURE is NOT AN OPTION.
?Below are the basic 'ordinances' I am currently in violation of as it's written:?
the main discontent is #3, where it states that a peddler must 'sell and move', it would be impossible for my current customer base to find me if I keep moving around.....keep in mind that before me, there was a gentleman (Franks A Lot) at the same spot for 18 years before he retired 4 years ago. If you Google 500 nordhoff place englewood nj, and set it to 'street view' you will see Frank's truck at the same spot....
?(1) Interference with traffic. No person or vehicle shall stand or be parked in a fixed location for the purpose of displaying or selling wares, merchandise, or services on any public or private property where to do so causes or is likely to cause a crowd to gather, or where to do so impedes or is likely to impede vehicular or pedestrian traffic.??
(2) Restricted areas. No person or vehicle shall stand or be parked for the purpose of displaying or selling wares, merchandise or services on any public or private property within a distance of 500 feet of any church, school or library.??
(3) Parking. No person shall park a vehicle for the purpose of displaying or selling wares, merchandise or services on any public or private property for a period longer than the time it takes to make a sale to a customer.?
