Lake View began as a township in 1857 and has survived as a vibrant neighborhood within the City of Chicago. The Old Town Hall was the symbolic center of the township. That journey from township to neighborhood should be remembered for general public to view. The Heartland Alliance and the Center on Halsted are instrumental in redefining the space in the 'Old Town Hall' as part of senior housing for LBGT community. So, I am requesting that a dedicated space be reserved in the redefined Old Town Hall as an archived exhibit space that tells the story about the history of LakeView.
