Mr. Murray's improper and unethical behavior evidenced by 390 inappropriate text messages sent to a student and his pursuit of an on-going smear campaign in the media, as well as releasing the name of the student in question show that he ignored his obligation to maintain a professional relationship with at least one student. We believe that his behavior was inappropriate and harmful and that given the chance he will continue this kind of behavior towards other students, if not escalate the impropriety of his contacts with students. The state is obligated to make sure all of our educators maintain the highest ethical and behavioral standards that have been set forth. The state must do its part to make sure this does not happen to anyone else.
