Metamorphosis School, a Montessori school since 1981, in Monticello, Illinois, has acquired 2 sheep to be used in their educational program. The City administration has advised the school that keeping of sheep within the city limits is a violation of the city's "Animal Ordinance" , and that the exception for "educational institutions" which allows Educational Institutions to keep "dangerous animals", applies only to "dangerous animals", not sheep and other domesticated animals. The ordinance should be amended to allow the keeping of sheep at an educational institution.
