Whereas Coloradoan’s inherently value the beauty and quality of life that nature and wildlife bring into their lives.

Whereas the areas that drain into the big Thompson River are teeming with biodiversity:  A blue-heron rookery, a pair of nesting bald eagles, a mother bear who raises her cubs in the area, a swoon of lightening bugs that are considered a vanishing species, white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, ducks and so much more.

Whereas there is currently a narrow, winding, dirt road with little human traffic, and where currently there are no developments that adjoin this road.

Whereas allowing residential and commercial development in this particular area would destroy the habitat, and once disturbed and destroyed would be irreplaceable as there is no other open space that can provide this critical habitat along the Front Range river basins.

Therefore let it be enacted and proclaimed that Larimer County Road 3 between Larimer County Road 18 and the railroad track north of Road 20C be designated as a wildlife corridor and that all further development be directed elsewhere and that human use of County Road 3 be limited and that wildlife be given this area as a protected and permanent residence.
