Being chosen as a host city means the influx of millions of dollars into the local economy and into the pockets of those who profit from the games and the surrounding pageantry. The Olympics unite the global community. They are cherished - even sacred to many; we cannot allow our reverence for human superlativity to be contaminated by association with such deplorable events. You demean these venerable games by connecting them with bigotry, savagery and cruelty: no more. In the future, we implore you to use your conscience in choosing host cities; you have the power to help change the world.
