Stop bills expanding vouchers; fully fund our public schools

    1. Petition by

      Indiana Coalition for Public Education

I can't attend the March 19 rally, but I urge you to fully fund public schools and stop bills that expand voucher eligibility. Vouchers hurt public schools. And despite what reformers say, public schools across Indiana are not failing! By measures more objective than the current A-F grading model, Indiana's public schools are performing better than ever and deserve your support.

The Republicans are seriously screwing up a perfectly good education system and they are only doing it for the money. It isn't working Republicans, stop the out flow of money and return it to the public schools !!!

We need to invest our resources in public schools. If they aren't good, taking the money out of them isn't going to help. MAKE them get better. Trust educators to know how to do this. No studies have ever shown private or charter schools to be better, except for a small number of individual cases. Mostly they exist to allow kids to learn an anti-scientific view point, which is not what we need in our citizens, and to help other people get rich, which is also not the purpose of our tax money.
