Setting up of a Commission of Inquiry on Poaching in Kenya, and the immediate reorganization of the Kenya Wildlife Service.

Setting up of a Commission of Inquiry on Poaching in Kenya, and the immediate reorganization of the Kenya Wildlife Service.
The Issue
Poaching is rapidly driving some of our Big Five into extinction at an alarming rate, with no end in sight to the mayhem that our wildlife find themselves in. Despite the tough talk, the state organs charged with protecting these animals are either sleeping on the job, or are abetting the poachers, which in either case means that more and more animals will continue to be lost.
Of great concern is the poachers attachment to rhinos and elephants, which need no explanation. Demand for horns far outstrips supply, and these poachers are increasingly making bold attempts to secure the horns of these animals. As Kenyans, the high time has come for us to condemn these acts and ask our leaders to focus on such issues as poaching instead of discussing who flies which flag. Our rhinos and elephants will not be any safe even if all 40 Million Kenyans flew flags in my opinion.
With the rhinos being heavily targeted, I am intending to raise Ksh.3 million to purchase electronic tags which will be used for servaillance of our treasured rhinos numbering just over 1,000, with a view of also tagging elephants in a subsequent campaign.
I encourage my countymen and women to sign this petition, and spread the word as we can no longer keep silent and hope the entities tasked with protecting our wildlife will do so.
Thank you all
