I find it incredibly wrong, that people can post and create groups that are anti-homosexual. It is ridiculously anti-gay of Facebook to allow all these groups that spread hatred and are cruel to gays and lesbians, telling us we are sins against nature and are going to burn in hell for all eternity.
Some of these pages include pictures of weapons that people would use to beat up homosexuals, anti-gay slogans, and reasons to hate homosexuals.
These pages existing and spewing horribly demeaning things about homosexuals doesn't seem to matter to Facebook. I have read comments on these pages saying, "You are an abomination, and you will die of aids." and reported them only to receive short replies from Facebook saying that it doesn't violate their standards.
Groups like "One Million Moms", "Homosexuality is so wrong" and "Enough is Enough: Homosexual Promotion" can say whatever they want, and they guise it as some sort of p.s.a. sometimes, but in reality it is spreading hate and facebook supports that message.
I find this hate speech morally wrong on every level. Facebook should reevaluate its community standards and possibly think about changing them. Facebook says, it does not permit hate speech. In their community standards it says:
"While we encourage you to challenge ideas, institutions, events, and practices, it is a serious violation to attack a person based on their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or medical condition."
I do understand the difference between freedom of speech and hate speech.
When someone says they disagree with gay marriage, that's freedom of speech..
when someone says
Thats hate speech! Lets end Hate Speech on Facebook. The above quoted statement is still live on Facebook.
If there were anti-african american or anti mexican pages, they would be taken down immediately. This should be the same with anti-homosexual pages.
Facebook doesn't follow it's own community standards by allowing these pages. Take them down!
I am including all pages that are anti-LGBT.
