Comcast to Drop tv13 Nashua

Comcast to Drop tv13 Nashua
The Issue
WYCN tv13 Nashua is the only television station licensed to Nashua and serving the surrounding greater Nashua region in 25 communities. For 25 years it has provided a vital and unduplicated outlet for local affairs programming, information, and news that bind these communities together. Under recent ownership, its attention to local programming was lacking, however, in May of this year, WYCN tv13 Nashua was sold yet again to OTA Broadcasting. They were eager to restore local programming under the direction of long-time managers, Gordon Jackson and Carolyn Choate who, since late May have worked tirelessly to reestablish the station’s unique local flavor. Sadly, Comcast Cable, unaware these changes were taking place, decided to terminate the station’s cable carriage agreement, which will effectively shut down WYCN tv13 Nashua. Greater Nashua has already lost too many of its local media outlets and institutions to those of national prominence adding to a loss of our collective identity here in Southern New Hampshire. As such, we petition Comcast Cable to honor their cable carriage agreement and continue to carry WYCN tv13 Nashua for the benefit of its local subscribers. Thank you for your time, Gordon Jackson & Carolyn Choate
