Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey is a miniseries that nimbly balances important information with wonderful visual spectacle, forging a delicate middle ground between sci-fi and science fact. It is a superb homage to Carl Sagan's original 1980 voyage and an instant classic among a 21st century audience.

Our society has never needed a science-based show like this on primetime more urgently. We live in a world in which Bill Nye actually has to debate Ken Ham or can't get a word in on Crossfire about the dangers of climate change, where entities with vested interests lobby to cloud the truth about scientific fact.

Cosmos brings much needed inspiration and wonder to science, and we need to keep it that way if we're to encourage our nation's young minds to pursue a career in the sciences.

Let this petition serve as our show of interest and support for the continuation of Cosmos!
