Our little angel Sophia was born 3 months early and spent 71 days in the NICU. We went through a lot with her and racked up many bills to support all of her medical needs. She was diagosed with Epilepsy a year ago. She needs name brand medicine called Kepra that my insurance won't cover because they say she needs to try a round of different generics. She has tried generic and it didn't work. She continued to have seizures which hospitilized her at times. It is very dangerous to switch medicines on an epileptic person much less an epileptic 3 year old child who has been through so much in her life. This one medicine is the only one that works for her and is the safest one for a small child. We struggle every month trying to come up with the medicine for little Sophia.
