This Barnes & Noble location has been open for the past 17 years. It brings a diversity to the downtown Fort Worth area and is loved by many. People from around the WORLD have made sure to check out this store when they are in town because of its historical value. We have pictures of historical Fort Worth as well as our beloved cowboy statue that people come to get a picture with on the daily! Working as a bookseller and seeing our store close down has broken my heart and the feedback from customers about this situation has astonished me. The community is sad about this shut down, and I am not talking just about the Fort Worth community, I am talking about neighboring communites and tourists who make sure to always stop by. Downtown Fort Worth doesn't need anymore bars or restaurants! Even as we close down we are still going on as normal and even continuing with our christmas book drive to help the unfortunate. We are keeping up high spirits for our customers even though it is breaking our hearts. Not only because our own personal jobs are on the line, but also because all the history in this store will also be gone. In the paper you saw where they said that "it was time" to close this store. I think the community should decide when it's time. Let's prove that it is not that time!
