7月16日(火)北区保健所生活衛生課課長に提出することが決まりました。そのため署名活動を7月10日(水)まで延長します。PayPayを用いたカンパ募集も行っています。

◇JR王子駅北口にて街頭署名を行います。

6月16日(日)、18日(火)、19日(水)、23日(日)、25日(火)、30日(日)

いずれも17:00〜19:00を予定しています。お近くの方はぜひお立ち寄りください。

私たちの地元である東京都北区・田端で悲劇が起きました。

地域猫のエサに強酸性洗剤サンポールが撒かれ、猫が大怪我する事件がおきたのです。2匹はエサを食べることができなくなってしまいました。※

犯人はこれみよがしに、使用したサンポールの容器を現場に置き去っていったといいます。

もちろん警察に通報されましたが、いまだ犯人の特定には至っていません。

事件を知った地域猫活動ボランティアは、「動物虐待は犯罪」というポスターを貼ってほしいと保健所に要請。

ところが、保健所はこの要望を「どんなポスターを作ろうが保健所の勝手だ」「予算がない」という理由で断りました。

田端に隣接する文京区や豊島区では何年も前から各自治体独自のポスターがあり、警察署・保健所への通報先も明記されているのにも関わらず、です。

北区保健所はこうした抑止力あるポスターを作成していません。

 

 

ポスターなんかで何か変わるの？とお思いの方もいるかもしれません。しかし、犯罪を未然に防ぐためには、すみやかな情報提供や通報が必要です。そのためには、保健所と警察署への連絡先が明記された効果的なポスターが必要不可欠なのです。

山田区長は政策で「ペットは家族と同じ。「動物愛護の北区」を目指して、終生飼育の啓発と環境整備、区内殺処分ゼロ、保護ねこ・保護いぬの里親制度を充実」とうたっています。保健所のずさんな対応をどう捉えているのでしょうか。一刻も早い動物虐待防止への行動を求めます。

みなさまには署名活動・SNSでの拡散にご協力いただきたく存じます。

小さな命がないがしろにされているこの町を変えたいという、私たちの切なる望みをどうか一緒に届けてください。

1日でも早い請願のため、期日を2024年6月30日までとします。（7月10日まで延長しました。）

※2024年5月15日現在、怪我を負った2匹は無事に保護され、ボランティアの自宅で安静に過ごしています。

A tragedy occurred in our hometown, Tabata, Kita Ward, Tokyo.

The strongly acidic detergent was sprinkled on the food of community cats. It caused severe injuries to them. The two cats ended up becoming difficult to eat food for a while.*

Volunteers taking care of community cats who knew what happened requested the Public Health Center of Kita Ward to put up posters saying "Animal abuse is a crime."

However, the center rejected this request on the grounds that "whatever kind of poster we make is up to us" and "we don't have the budget."

In Bunkyo Ward and Toshima Ward, which are adjacent to Tabata, each local government has had its own posters for many years. They clearly state where to report to police stations and Public Health Centers.

Will the poster change anything? Some of you may think so. However, in order to prevent crimes from occurring, it is necessary to promptly provide information and report. To this end, effective posters with contact information for the centers and police are essential.

We demand immediate action to prevent animal abuse.

*As of May 15, 2024, the two injured cats have been safely rescued and are having good time  in a volunteer's home.
