Liebe Unterstützer*innen

zur Amtseinführung des höchstumstrittenen iranischen Präsidenten Ebrahim Raisi, am Donnerstag, den 5.8., ist der stellvertretende EU Außenbeauftragte, Enrique Mora, trotz zahlreicher Proteste von Menschenrechtsorganisationen, in den Iran gereist. Über Ebrahim Raisi, dem Blutrichter, unter dem allein 1988 5000 politische Gefangene hingerichtet wurden und der auch für den Tod des Wrestlers Navid Afkari, verantwortlich ist, hatte ich bereits berichtet.

Dies ist eine Schande und ein Schlag ins Gesicht der zahlreichen Demonstranten, die gerade landesweit gegen das radikalislamische Regime protestieren und für die Freiheitrechte ihr Leben aufs Spiel setzen.

Für alle Interessenten habe ich daher eine kurze E-Mail Vorlage vorbereitet, die ihr als Protest direkt an Enrique Mora schicken könnt (untenstehend).

Betreff: Your visit to Iran is a disgrace

Dear Mr. Mora, I strictly reject your attendance at the ceremony of Ebrahim Raisi in Tehran. You are legitimizing a regime that has been brutally oppressing, torturing and executing its citizens for decades. Expression of public opinion is a human right in Europe. Not so in Iran! Right now, there are nationwide protests, caused, by water shortages, the catastrophic corona situation and the people's rejection of President Raisi and the bloody government. The government is shooting minors, for example in Khuzestan, and mistreating them in torture prisons right now. You are a guest of those who carry out this inhumane policy.  You are a tool of their propaganda machine.  Congratulations.

As a human rights activist, I cannot accept your decision to travel to Iran.
