This six week old baby zebra was in a kill pen waiting to ship to slaughter as a by product of zebra breeding and hunting in Southern States of the US where it is totally legal.

Google zebra hunting in the US and dozens of ranches will pop up offering zebra hunting at between 6-8 thousand dollars.  Much of the time the female zebras are bred before being shot and their babies are taken from them at 1-2 days old and made dependent on humans for food and care.  Then they are sold at auctions and private exotic animal sales for thousands as pets.

Which is how Ziggy Stardust here was bought by Skydog Sanctuary, a 9000 acre wild horse and donkey sanctuary who have extensive experience handling and gentling wild equids. We hope little baby Ziggy will help to raise awareness against these barbaric hunt lodges and shut them down once and for all.
