Hello!

We've reached 60,000 signatures!

Great news but we still need many more and a bit of a kick up the bum as the last few days have been quite slow.

I'm being very proactive with letters to (hopefully) sympathetic celebrities and with telephone calls/emails to BIG (some of the biggest) animal societies and journalists.

If you have inroads into any of the above - please go ahead and get them on board - this is about the petition, not me.

Based on the 'six degrees of separation' theory - that we are all no more than seven contacts from everyone in the world - we should easily be able to rope in these animal lovers: the Dalai Lama (cats), Lionel Messi (dogs), Morgan Freeman (horses), Jennifer Aniston (chickens) and Kevin Bacon (goats and llamas).

Unfortunately for them, they're out of the running since signatures don't count when not made in the UK (with a UK ISP and postcode)  . . . but there are plenty others with the social media 'power' to spread this far and wide, which is what's needed.
