Children’s Health and Safety at Sagewood Woodvale is equipped and protected with lifevac 

LifeVac Training Completed – In Partnership with ZaZa’s Legacy

At Sagewood Woodvale, they believe that every child deserves to be safe, protected, and given every chance to thrive. Our team recently completed LifeVac training through ZaZa’s Legacy — a powerful community initiative created in memory of beautiful Zaire “ZaZa” Bwoga.

ZaZa’s Legacy was born from unimaginable loss and transformed into a movement of love, action, and purpose — empowering early childhood services and families with lifesaving education, awareness, and tools to prevent choking tragedies.

During this training, the educators learned how to recognise and respond to choking emergencies, refreshed their first-aid knowledge, and practised using the LifeVac airway-clearance device — a simple, non-invasive tool designed to help when traditional methods haven’t worked.

This training touched every heart in at the centre. It reminded us why they love the job — to protect the lives entrusted to them every single day. The team now feels more confident, prepared, and united in our mission to keep children safe. 

The centre has installed two LifeVac devices at  Woodvale centre and are proud to continue standing alongside ZaZa’s Legacy to raise awareness and inspire change.

As A. Philip Randolph said, “At the banquet table of nature, there are no reserved seats. You must have organization.”

And now, we’re calling on our community to rise with us.

We challenge every school, daycare, shire, city council,café, restaurant, political leader, and family to take action — to learn, prepare, and equip yourselves with the knowledge and tools that could save a life.

Because you have to have organization to have mobilization, and together we can make our communities safer, stronger, and more compassionate — one LifeVac, one training, one act of courage at a time.
