Fire Jessica Hudson From YC School District - Racist do not belong in the classroom

The Issue

Jessica Hudson works at Grey Avenue School in Yuba City, California  - anyone who lives in the town knows that Grey Avenue School is one of the most racially diverse schools within an already not so culturally diverse small town.

Jessica Hudson took to her public Facebook to post her highly racist & insensitive  view points...for instance in one of her post she stated :

”if I have to hear black lives matter one more time I’m going to vomit”

& in one of her comments she stated ;

“ stop using your great great great great great grandpa being a slave as an excuse” “ white people owned slaves at one time but it’s time to move on”

( SIDE NOTE: her father is a cop within Yuba City - Hatred like this is TAUGHT)

It’s EXTREMELY  concerning & FRIGHTENING that someone with these type of stand points are teaching our children ! I would not want this woman teaching U.S history to children or being in a class in general...especially especially if she CLEARLY does not understand the injustices Black People have faced in America, black history, & U.S History.

With these type of standpoints and views , Jessica Hudson, can not be trusted in the classroom with children while a major civil rights movement is happening now. Children need to be able to talk about what’s happening  and it’s common for students and teachers to discuss what is going on in the US & World and why it’s important.

She can easily express her warped opinions to her class on where she stands or comments that downplay that major race inequalities that have happened and are continuing to happen to black people. Especially if she does not understand U.S history and facts regarding the oppression of black people in history .

Please sign to bring awareness that racist do not have a place in the classroom

YCUSD should take action and fire Jessica Hudson & FURTHERMORE ;
address how YCUSD will address racism & the movement within the schools + reevaluate all teachers & YCUSD members that think similar to Jessica Hudson, because we all know she is NOT the only one.

People who view the world this way & are racist should not be teachers & in a place of public work.

"In a racist society, it is NOT enough to be non-racist, we must be antiracist.” — Angela Davis.
