The Issue

We, the undersigned residents of Queensville subdivision, respectfully urge the reinstatement of YRT Mobility-on-Request service connecting our community directly to the East Gwillimbury GO Station. The discontinuation of this vital route has significantly impacted our ability to commute efficiently, access employment opportunities, attend school, and engage in essential activities.

Reasons for Reinstatement:

·       Accessibility & Equity: Many residents, including seniors, students, and individuals without access to private vehicles, rely on public transit as their primary mode of transportation.

·       Environmental Impact: Restoring transit service would reduce car dependency, lower emissions, and support the municipality’s sustainability goals.

·       Economic Vitality: Reliable transit access to the train terminal enhances regional connectivity, boosts local businesses, and supports workforce mobility.

·       Safety & Convenience: Public transit offers a safer, more affordable alternative to driving, especially during inclement weather or peak traffic hours.

We believe that restoring this service is not only a matter of convenience but of fairness and community well-being. We urge the relevant authorities to prioritize this issue and take immediate steps to reinstate the route.

Requested Action:

We respectfully request that the YRT and York Region urgently conduct a review of the discontinued service and develop a plan to reinstate direct public transit service between Queensville and East Gwillimbury GO Station.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to your support in reconnecting our community.
