Convince The Mighty Mighty BossToneS and Every Time I Die to play one last show together
The Issue
Hey guys,
I am a stand-up comedian based out of Los Angeles, CA with roots to the music scene in New York City where I grew up. I am more than my jokes and my good looks and charm, but I am also a huge music fan, and I am here to address a cause I am highly passionate about.
Recently, I tweeted both about The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Every Time I Die, and BOTH bands announced their break-ups hours later. What are the fucking odds. Truth is it upsets me. I know I’m not responsible for them breaking up as far as I know. However if it were my choice, I would use my powerful Twitter presence to get both bands to play a show, of course with What’s Your Problem Brian opening, but I can’t do it alone. I need you!
The Mighty Mighty BossToneS were a skacore band from Boston, MA who had string of really cool albums in the early nineties. They gained mainstream interest with the platinum-selling Let’s Face It which included the #1 single The Impression That I Get. You all know the song. It was featured in the end of Step Brothers. Good movie. Since then they put out a ton of really cool albums. I really liked WHEN GOD WAS GREAT which came out in 2021.
Every Time I Die was a really cool metalcore/hardcore band from Buffalo, NY. Sick guitar riffs, absolutely killer live, and I’ve never met them, but they seem like cool dudes. Hot Damn is a really cool album. I say upon the success of this campaign Every Time I Die should play Hot Damn in its entirety live but wait, there's more.
What’s Your Problem Brian were a ska punk band originally from The Bronx, NY. Disbanding in 2003, they had a string of reunion shows in the late 2000’s and early 2010’s. WYPB was stupid fun live and Taste Your Own Medicine is an absolute gem of a record.
It is for these reasons and more I am collecting signatures to get The Mighty Mighty BossToneS, Every Time I Die and What’s Your Problem Brian to get back together for one more killer show.
I will fly from Los Angeles to attend this show, hell, maybe do a half hour while What’s Your Problem Brian sets up. I have a bit about deviled eggs which you can watch here and another about my friend offering to pay me in soup to help him move in with his girlfriend, both of which are eventually going to land me my first TV spot.
I want to wrap this up by saying this is a cause that means something to me. I wanna see fans of The Mighty Mighty BossToneS, Every Time I Die and What's Your Problem Brian get together for an incredible night celebrating three incredible legacies.
Think about it. It'll be like Warped Tour but INSIDE. Please wear a mask. If this is something you're into, let's start with 100 signatures. Please share this with everyone you know to make this happen.
Cheers,
Ian Ira Rousso
