Levar Burton is an unsung hero in pop culture. He has impacted several generations with his contributions to media throughout the years. From his groundbreaking performance as Kunta Kinte in Roots to his hosting of Reading Rainbow and, of course, his unforgettable portrayal of Lieutenant Commander Geordi LaForge on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Burton has always demonstrated respect for his craft. And it's time to reward him by allowing him to don the cape of Lando Calrissian like only he can.

A genuine icon should be played by another genuine icon. And there is no one more iconic (while still remaining wholesome) than Levar Burton. It's time to let him grace the Star Wars universe with his amazing presence.  

Burton appeals to at least three generations of television viewers, just like Star Wars! He's also an industry veteran who will inspire the entire cast and crew to bring their A game to the production. 

As for drip, Burton's facial hair is second-to-none. He can easily pull off a debonair look with a mischievous twinkle in his eye. Burton is also very fit for his age, and will be able to do most of his own stunts. 

Casting Burton will also fan the flames of the eternal Star Trek vs Star Wars debate that has kept geeks and nerds engaged for over 40 years.
