Board of Trustees at York Region DSB voted to un-name Sir John. A Macdonald Public School in the City of Markham, effective immediately. A consultation process to rename the school will commence in Fall 2021, starting with the local SJAM school community and the Chippewas of Georgina Island, led by local Trustee Ron Lynn and Indigenous Trustee Lauri Hoeg.
