Yeshiva of Staten Island: Heed the call that the Gedolim demand in the Kol Korei; "protest against Avrohom Meir Weiss and remove him from the Kollel" until he gives Gital a Get
The Issue
It has been nearly four years since Gital first asked her husband for a get (Jewish writ of divorce). Their civil divorce was finalized in August 2012. Nevertheless, Avrohom Meir Weiss refuses to give Gital a get until she agrees to his list of terms (including $350,000, changing the court ordered custody arrangement, giving him the right to unilaterally make all education decisions, plus nine other, smaller demands).
The Rabbanim have issued a Kol Korei decrying his actions and encouraging the public to protest against him until he gives the Get. They have called on the Yeshiva of Staten Island to oust him from the Kollel.
