Yarra Valley Water Moving Ahead with Tram Road Reserve Location

While we have been enduring a worldwide pandemic, locked down, restricted to our homes and relying heavily on our open parklands for exercise and fresh air, YVW have been busy completing their feasibility study at Tram Road Reserve. They have deemed the site suitable despite every objection by our community.

These parklands, and indeed all of our parklands, are more essential than ever before and as a result this issue will gain more attention now than ever before.   There has been a constant stream of walkers and bike riders, kids, adults and dogs through this area along the Koonung Creek Trail over the past few months.  

With no end date on this worldwide pandemic and the very real possibility of having to change our way of lives forever we cannot allow this development to proceed.  The loss of parkland for 1 1/2 to 2 years and potential ongoing danger to our creek is unacceptable.

Lets tell Yarra Valley Water and Manning Council in no uncertain terms that we will not accept a sewerage treatment plant in our parklands!  

Council elections are coming up in October 2020.  Ask your local candidates where they stand on this issue, Will they vote against this sewerage plant?
